for everyone

For some reason, everytime I get to this page (the compose blog entry page), I always forget what I wanted to write about or get too lazy to continue. You'll probably notice a long vacant spot on my calendar updates. hehe. Anyway, I'm here now, miraculously feeling up to an update. I find it weird. xD

I didn't go to the UP Fair. Instead, I only met up with some of my hs friends last friday. I have to say, I didn't really feel the fair. I dunno, I suppose it has something to do with this losing-the-car-for-a-time thing. I feel like I'm tied to a schedule all the time even though I'm free to come and go as I please, only that I have to commute to and from my house. It's not that I can't, it's just that I'm too scared to. Pathetic right? >.<

Ah well. If you knew the road I have to walk through, you'd be scared for my sake too. -_-;

I finally understood clearly what Nietzsche meant about truth and perspectivism. So there is no truth precisely because truth is what a person sees in his perspective.

It does make sense, however, there's still something which doesn't make sense to me. What about... say, a person who is color-blind and a person who's not?

A is the color blind person and B is the normal person.

Let's say that there is a red book. B sees it as a red book, while A sees it as a green book.

In B's perspective, the book is red, so it's true. A, on the other hand, sees the book as green which makes it true in his perspective. But we know that the book is really red, so what is true to A is false in reality. So is truth really in perspective?

But then again... what if we only say A is the one who is color blind because our basis of what is "normal" is what is majority? B is a member of the majority (in the eye-arena, that is). So maybe the truth is what A says after all. But who knows? How will we know? So I suppose truth does depend on one's perspective and that there is no Absolute Truth.

Am I making sense?

I'm planning a lot of things in the near and far future. I can only hope to get them all done.

I like variety. I get bored easily. I hate when someone I converse with goes on and on about one thing, and one thing only. >__< But I have the decency not to show it and just go with the flow.

There is someone I like right now. There is someone I liked in the past. There is someone I will like in the future. And that someone is him, was him, and will be him.

Desire, when suppressed, will make you stronger, but deprivation will destroy you. So just know when to give in, okay? :)

I will train myself to become a master and not some weakling without giving up my belief in God. ^^, I may be a little stubborn with my practices, but I'm very sure of my belief and faith in the Creator. :)

Hehehe. Nakakatuwa. Kasi just the other day, namention namin in passing sa conversation namin si Kuya Jc. Tapos a couple of days later, dumaan kame ni Rejoice sa AS lobby kasi she needed to use the Computer Room. Hindi kasi kame dumadaan dun sa loob ng AS as much as possible dahil sa akin. hehehe. Pero anyway, we did and ayun. Nakita namin si Kuya Jc. Wala lang. :) Foreshadowing. :D

Pero oi, if you're wondering wala na talaga yun. :)

Rant:

Argh. Can we talk about something else please? I'm soooooo tired of the one thing you always talk about. Do I look like I only think about those things? I don't. I'd like nothing more than to add lots more interesting things in our conversation. But it seems to me as if that's the only thing you're interested in talking about. What's up with that? I know you're not that shallow so does that mean you think I'm that shallow? I know I don't sound smart and I'm not saying that I am, it's just that I'm reeeallly getting bored talking to you. I like variety. Don't blame me if I sometimes avoid talking to you.

for everyone
Category:Books
Genre: Literature & Fiction
Author:Jostein Gaarder
short summary:
Sophie Amundsen, a 14-yr-old girl, received a note from philosopher, Alberto Knox. This started her months-long philosophy course which changed Sophie's life, forever.

---
The book is one of the most amazing books I've ever read.

Jostein Gaarder is brilliant.

Long before, I've been looking for a book which could tell me the important parts of history in chronological order, without making it seem like a boring lecture. Gaarder managed to make it seem like a story that's continuously changing and developing, and for sure, it stayed true to what one of the philosophers inside has said.

The book is not without an interesting plot and lots of surprises. It's funny and witty, and informative too. It's almost as if one can use this as a reference.

Certainly, if one wants to study philosophy but doesn't know where to start, this is a good way to start.

Mind boggling and awe inspiring, truly, this will remain one of my best recommended books to anyone. :)
