I'm not a techie geek that's why this post would not be about cam phones and vid phones. Instead, it would be about how A-M-A-Z-I-N-G it feels to have people want to come up to you to capture your performance on it. Last night, as I have said was exhausting but was lovely because I spent it with my friends from church. But what made it amazing was when I saw some people with their cams and vids out capturing our (kuya cholo and I) duet. I suppose they were doing it na since Kuya Cholo first sang his solo (because who wouldn't? I would have if only I had my phone with me. =/) but I noticed it only when I sang with him again. Siguro mababaw para sa inyo yung reason and you wonder how it was amazing, but well, I dunno, kasi I was really surprised to find myself there. I mean, siguro I forgot, pero I really didn't know that I was supposed to sing (proof yung hindi ko paglagay ng make-up). So in short, it was sort of "on-the-spot". Buti na lang I sang one of the songs before kaya lang hindi ko memorize yung lyrics, and the other one I have been singing in the bathroom for months na, kaya lang hindi ko rin memorize yung lyrics because it's in Italian. xp And you know, I just really thought my performance was disastrous. And then I saw those people trying to capture us on video, I guess it just made me feel good to know that they thought the performance good enough to want to take a video of it. :p I mean, it's not everyday that you see people trying to take a video of you (na hindi pang-blackmail okay?). Kaya ayun. And a special note to zyra who, with her hugely appreciated praises, made me feel better last night even though feel ko sinabi lang niya yun dahil friend ko siya... xp (don't worry zy, maybe you and badong would be singing that duet sometime soon. yihiee!! ;D) and everyone else who gave me encouragements, thaaaank you! ^___^ Oh yeah, yesterday was really an on-the-spot-note-and-lyric-reading-as-well-as-try-to-remember-old-song's-lyrics-as-best-as-you-can day. Jesu, Joy of Bach was sung yesterday by ate candy, kuya, cholo and I (and we were accompanied by kuya bien on the piano, and ate rechelle alcanses and ummm mr. val something, on the violin) and whoooo. grabe, actually nasabi na sa akin nakakantahin yan before, but for some reason I thought sa May pa yun. And I thought chorus lang. I didn't know na yung "aaah" part yung kakantahin namin. xD So yeaaah. Major cramming ako minutes before the wedding trying to learn the part. sheeesh. tapos yung It must be love na hindi naman namin plinanong kantahin, kinanta din. xp wala pa kameng lyrics! hahahaahahha! super old song. :p and yeah ayun, yung All I ask of you and yung Con te Par tiro. xD nakaraos din! :p

Oh yes! The Concert was great (thought tiring)! We did better than expected. I kept getting nothing but compliments.
First, let's start with how I started my day. I slept through until around 11:30. Call time was 1:30 at the clubhouse. As usual, I got there past 2:00.
Arriving at the "backstage" place was blissful. I was greeted by the wonderful music of the string quartet. Veeery lovely. ^^,
We then practiced O Worship the King, an African-American Song, with the quartet, oboe and pianist. Afterwards we practiced Seasons of Love, again accompanied by the piano and the quartet plus the saxophone.
Actually, to be more clear, the ones performing other than me and my choirmates are 3 violinists: Professor Sergio Esmilla, Teacher Mayos Esmilla, and former Concert Master of the San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra, Rechelle Alcanses. 1 violist named Jun I think... 1 cellist and 1 saxophone and/or oboeist. (I know! I'm so sorry! It was very rude of me not to know their names!! T_T)
Anyway, let's just go to the concert proper shall we? Since this is what the post is supposed to be about. :D
As is what I think almost customary in the Filipino culture, we started late - almost 6:00. CTKPC started with Ave Verum, then we went on with a Folk Song, which was a piece that's a little difficult, Telebong. Then the choir went on up and it was my turn!
My first song, Songs that My Mother Taught, was relatively easy in the context of pitch and melody, but hard because it's an emotional song. I think I always lacked in the ability to convey emotions through singing though I think I pulled through (barely) this time. At least, that's what I was told - that it was moving and "mesmerizing". [As I was singing, I even saw some people react by making gestures showing that they're getting goosebumps. Whether it's because of fear of my big(?)/high(?) voice, or because they think it's beautiful, I don't know. I would prefer the latter though. hehe.] Teacher Mayos accompanied me here. Actually, she accompanied me in all the songs I performed. :p
After me was, I'm not sure of the order anymore, but Professor Sergio Esmilla's solo. And it was moving indeed! He played one song which we weren't quite sure what the title is, Elegy, perhaps and one incredibly relaxing and moving piece, Thai's Meditation. It was a blissful performance.
After him the quartet gave us a little taste of their playing. I have no idea what they played, all I know is that they're great, as is expected. :D haha.
Then the saxophone player did his solo and if I wasn't already in love with the piece he played, I think I'd fallen in love more! It was a piece I hear in Kenny G's (am I right with the name?) cd. The piece is I think entitled Forever In Love? hehe. I'm not sure. Ah basta, it was very soul-lifting and romantic and... and... Ah! it's just plain great!
Okay, pardon me because I'm not really sure if I'm getting the order right. Anyway, it's not important.
After him was my turn again. I sang Ang Maya, which was a piece I was particularly nervous with because of the cadenza's. If I weren't missing notes in the cadenza's, I'd be adding extra notes there. @.@ But thankfully Lola was happy with my cadenza's that night! Whoopdeedoo! =D Although I had several (hopefully minor) pitch problems, I think I did very well for a very short preparation time.
Then after some adjustments, and surprise that I was to go on still, I sang the ever favorite: Leron, Leron Sinta by the great and famous Lucio San Pedro. I think I entertained the audience with this one since it's a song all of us know as a folk song, arranged in a very interesting way. I just love this song because of it's contrast and I do not dare think that I do this song the justice it deserves. I can only hope that I will further improve in the performance of this song.
After my song the audience wanted an encore (though I think it was my choirmates xD) but sadly I couldn't give anything more because we didn't have time to practice a fourth song. I already felt bad for changing one of my songs in the last minute. T_T Sorry teacher mayos! :(
Anyhoo, it was the quartet's turn to shine. They rendered pieces ranging from classical to opm pop and they were wonderful! Absolutely fantastic performance! They even played The Entertainer and we were very entertained indeed! Hahaha!
After the fantastic quartet was the choir's turn again. As Kuya Peter told me, "yay! we get to share the spotlight with you jane!" hahahaha! xD
We sang Lollipop, a fun song to sing, and O Worship the King, our "finale" wherein we were accompanied by the quartet, oboe, and piano. It was good. :D Then, on cue, our other choirmates who didn't join us in singing, shouted "more!" and of course, we gave them an encore. Seasons of Love. heh. Okay, I didn't really know the song and I didn't have it memorized so... hahaha! hindi ako masyadong kumanta. Oh, we were accompanied by the quartet again and there was a saxophone solo which was really nice.
All in all the concert was a huge success! Thanks to those wonderful and generous professional musicians who took time to give this to us, all for free! Imagine that! All highly acclaimed musicians at that! How wonderful, no?
It's a pity that only one of my friends got to see it but it's a great thing that he enjoyed it so much. :D I just think that it was a rare chance for people because you don't really get to see people like these perform for free. Nakakatuwa pa kasi we're neighbors. Hahaha. Ayan tuloy, lalo akong na-conscious sa pagkanta during mass! you never know kung sinong highly-acclaimed musician ang nandun!
Really, words aren't enough to describe how great they all were.
I'm also proud of the sopranos! You did your job. Thanks guys! Let's keep on practicing to further improve ourselves okay? Love you all! :D:D
Hopefully, there's a next time. :D

If a guy can't sing classical songs or play classical piano, violin and guitar, I think I can settle for a saxophone. =P teeheehee! ^.^ I really think saxophones are great for romantic, jazzy tunes which I looooove!
Ahaha. :D It's morning and I'm getting hungry. I think y'all know how much I enjoyed last night's concert and I need not say more. :D I hope that if there's a next time, all of you can come and watch.

Today I visited Teacher Mayos' house.
We've been passing by their house for years now and until now, I haven't seen the inside. It was actually quite nice. They have an outdoor dining area and because their house is located on a cliff, they have this very nice view of the Sierra Madre Mountain ranges. I felt like I was in another country. Actually, the design of their house alone made me feel like I'm outside Philippines. It was warm and cozy but fresh and cool at the same time. It wasn't like other houses which are filled with too much things that the design can no longer pull itself together. It really was nice.
:) I also like their family. I'm going back there maybe this friday or saturday. yaaay. :D

woke up today at 4 to put on my gown, make my hair and put on my make-up to get ready to go to the clubhouse by 5:30. >.<
Needless to say, I'm exhausted.
All in all, the mass and our singing was alright. Though I thought that the studio was a bit too uptight about everything. *roll eyes*
Anyway, we sang at the 5:30 mass again. I was still feeling pretty much pooped by then. Imagine, 3 sunod-sunod na mass ang inatenddan ko. @.@ hayyyy.
But I'm more than happy to serve God. :)
heheheh. kino-close up daw ako dun sa channel 4. >:D
wahahahaha! joke lang. :p

CTKP Choir mini-concert at the village's park. :D Nice Christmas Carols. :D Everyone's invited to come! :D:D:D
:) it's only been less than an hour since I got home from the Pink Film Festival. As it turned out, we were the only choir who showed up so we are the winner by default. :p Pero in fairness to us, they all thought we were great! napa-WOW daw sila. hahaha! :D Whee. :D We got 10k, they treated us steak meals, and I got more stickers for my starbucks planner! yay! and the people there were nice too. :p mostly gays, tapos may mga gay strippers pa kameng nakasama sa "backstage" (--> which was really a room somewhere at the back of the screen) pero they were... well, nice. :) Di naman masyado nagpapansinan eh. hehehe.
Nakakatawa si Ryan, sometime pagkapasok namin sa room full of gay people, biglang umakbay kay Zyra. =)) Sayang hindi sumali yung group b (or group a, kung sinong may gusto)! eh di 15k sana!! ---- Hn... nagkaron ng issue-issue about the grouping thing which is... well, I don' t know, medyo mababaw, if you ask me. It's not my place to say anything about it kaya... wag na lang. :) ---- Ray Quinn is ♥
They want me to be Ninang to Jo, but I don't want to. Lola replied saying that I shouldn't refuse since it's my first time to be Ninang. I replied back saying I don't believe in such things. She answered, "Kasabihan 'yon.", I said, "Oo nga, hindi nga ako naniniwala doon." Still, she argued, "Nag-aaral ka pa, hindi mo pa alam."
Duh?! Whatever. I really don't believe in such things. Although it doesn't hurt to follow some, in this case, I will follow what I want instead of some old saying.
And besides, DOI! Tingin ko mas lalo nga akong hindi maniniwala sa mga kasabihan kapag mas nag-aral ako.

Oh gosh. pano na yung make-up namin mamayaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Hey! nood kayo: tonight at 6:00 p.m. @ Gateway sa cinema. :D "PINK FILM FESTIVAL"
For Gay-friendly people lang yun. :) Kaya kung hindi ka gay-friendly, hindi rin kita friend. hahahah! :D joke lang. :D
Well... wala lang. :) I tend not to like people who are narrow-minded enough para i-hate ang mga gays and i-condemn sila. Lalo na those people who claim to have open-minds pero gosh. little do they know, napaka-kitid ng utak nila! Okay, nawawala na ako sa topic. hahahaha! xD
wala lang. :D whee. magv-vacation na! :D:D:D:D
=====
I think I'm changing for the better. :D I'm happyyyyyyyyyy. :D
I am guilty of one thing: I'm staying up way way waaaaay past my bed time. eh call time tomorrow 8:30 am. @.@ pero okay lang. :) kelangan ko na tong ilabas eh. :) baka makalimutan ko pa. :p
Before I start my story, I would like to especially thank Anjo who, even though he did not watch the concert, didn't forget to wish me and my choir God's blessings. :) awww. Thank you! :D (It would've been better if you were able to watch but, I completely understand. :D you know, at least you didn't forget to wish us well, and I appreciate that a lot. ^_^)
==================
The day started with us running a little late. Thankfully, ayun, we arrived there before everyone else, so we got to practice on stage longer than our alotted time.
I won't go into detail, basta all in all, our performance was better than expected. We had a little down-time (mga sermon) but yeah, it all worked out in the end. We all had a lot of fun and though it wasn't a full house, ang saya pa rin. :D
We went gaga over Arwin Tan and Ralph Hoffman. Nagpa-autograph pa kame kay Ralph - composer nung Ave Maria, and nagpapicture kasama niya. Nagpapicture rin kame kasama ni Arwin Tan.
To my surprise, I found out that they were actually Mr. & Mr. Hoffman. @.@ How about that! Hahahahaha! xD
:p Well... basta ayun. Masaya. :) Afterwards, we ate at KFC and wanted to go to starbucks pa kaya lang gabi na and call time tomorrow at 8:30 sharp!
So siguro I'll end here na rin muna. :)
Pulong night - excitement!
=============================
I am really disappointed right now. Not with how the concert turned out, obviously, but... with people. hay.
Never mind me. I don't want to talk about it. I don't know if nagegets niyo why I am disappointed. Just... never mind. :) I understand naman eh. It's just... BASTA. DON'T ASK ME. I WOULDN'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT.
I hope you had a great day. ^^, I certainly did. :D

Baptism of Tito Popsie's daughter
shooting of mass at RPN 9
... It's amusing AND annoying how, when I thought everything was clear and alright, something suddenly happens to shatter my carefully thought-of resolve. -_-
It's funny how good the skip-of-the-heart-giddyness feels.

It has been a little over an hour after I came home from the dinner-concert thing with the knights. It was fun. Though, I'm seriously sorry because I think I messed up. T_T
Choirmates, I'm really sorry! T_T

Guess who I saw at the mall today? Hahaha!
I went to the mall around lunch time to look for a gift for Ate Dani, and little did I know, I was to see the person I least expected to see AT THE MALL.
So sino nga ba? Eh di walang iba kundi si RJ!!
Ahahaha! :p Joke lang. :p Rj, if ever you're reading this, *pish* tayo. xD heehee. Joke lang. :p
No, it's not that he's the least I'd expect to see at a mall, I guess it's just I think it's rather unlikely. Hindi naman dahil sa nasa mall eh, it's that it's at SM North Edsa. Isn't Malabon a tad bit too far?
hehehe. It was a nice surprise though. I rarely get to talk to him ever since classes ended, and although we didn't get to talk, just a hi and a 'what are you doing here' in passing, *shrug* it's always nice to see friends. ^_^
teehee! ^.^ I was so shocked that my jaw literally dropped. nyahahaha!

It always feels nice to dance. :p
