One thing I can say for sure: It's a TRUE Disney ORIGINAL Movie.
Personally, I think I set my standards up too high and didn't think of how typical Disney Original Movies are.
Characters:
I give this a one star (if possible, no star). The characters where stereotyped, as should be expected from Disney Movies. Although, it does seem appropriate since Disney Movies' target audience are not movie critiques but young audiences, and what better way for kids to understand the point than to stereotype the characters, right? :)
Personally, though, I didn't like it since, like I said, I set up my standards high above.
There was no character development whatsoever, and each character was portrayed in a rather plain drawing.
Plot:
It was plain. I'll give this a one star (if possible, no star). Again, typical "miracles" happened, as should be expected. Very predictable (as usual). And yes. Plain.
Songs:
I developed a certain liking to a few of them, and so I'm giving this 2 stars. However, there are certain lines in the song which I don't think makes sense in relation to the plot of the story. A lot of times even, it seemed as if the story was made FROM the song, instead of the other way around, which made the story line a bit too fast-paced.
Singing voices:
1 star.
Ashley and Vanessa(sp?) sound alike, and so there wasn't anything to distinguish their singing voices from each other except the beat of the song. I personally did not like there "small-sounding" voice.
Like I said, none of the singing voices had a distinguishing quality and certainly no superstar when it comes to singing. They're okay.
Acting:
1 star.
Not that they're horrible or anything, it's just they could've done better.
Choreography:
3 stars.
I liked most of the choreography, except when Vanessa sang her solo. For me, her movements and the song didn't match too well. I feel as if she put too much movement when her voice wasn't putting that much effort. so yes, it didn't work so well.
Overall:
2 stars. (and I think I'm being quite generous)
Well, like I said, no character development, poor plot, so-so songs and voices.
It's a typical Disney Movie which targeted the young audiences.
